Virtual Tours

A virtual tour is a series of 360 degree panoramas simulated to display interactively on a screen, where the viewer feels he/she are in the photograph and can navigate around it, experiencing the locations as if they’re actually there. Hotspots could also be built into the tour so that when the viewer is immersed in the tour he or she can click on a hotspot and be taken to another view or be shown information on a specific area just by clicking it. In this way the experience is truly interactive and the viewer will feel intimately familiar with all aspects of the location. As well as this, images, sound, and video could be used to support the interactive experience. Interactive Tours can be viewed on all smart phones, including I-phone and I-pad. They can be shared and embedded on web 2 social networks, such as Facebook, and Twitter. An applied example of the benefits of this new technology is that, using our virtual tours, web users can view locations in advance without leaving their computers.
