Hi Phil,

Thanks for posting, good points ! I think the price is probably relative to what is charged for the footage with the Draganflyer, . I was pleased to check it out but must admit the weight issue is most concern as it cannot carry dslr, which apparently is given extra weight to make it feel more like old ’slr’. So I thought ‘pay more to carry more weight’, or ‘pay less and carry less’ so started looking at lighter cameras. This one was the best I think http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=29 I was impressed with the noise level being very low so it seems more urban friendly. Flying does not take as long to master than RC helicopter, although I would like to compare flight times and battery vs fuel, and safety aspects like what happens when out of GPS range, and what happens when power is running low. I am interested in learning more of the options of RC helicopter Here is a great video of RC + 5D mk2 from Matt Jeppsen.

That’s a bit overpriced when it can only carry a point & shoot camera when rc helicopters have been lifting DSLRs at 1/3 of the cost. The rc helicopter has gps position hold and all the other options too.

Thanks so much for these useful comments I’ll amend the tutorial tomorrow and install 1.3 on another site so I can get the code working for that version too.

Mike – I tried latest code with Google earth and it does work but there maybe a possible bug in that the maptype options sometimes disappear when in Google earth mode – please check this with Dylan if it happens – you can try

Mike – good point about versions. It would be good to mention in the tutorial that this will only work with Geo Mashup 1.2. In 1.3 there will be at least one variable name change (post_data to object_data).

Hi Tom,

Sorry – it’s working… my Mozilla browser was caching the site. I removed the Google Earth code out of the function customizeGeoMashupMap ( properties, map ) and then noticed it was still present… so I thought of loading the site into another browser and hey presto, it works…. it’s so awesome!!!!
